Clarkson College has not always been a college. Instead, we began in 1888 as a school of nursing—the first in the state of Nebraska. Over the last 125 years, we've established a new campus, expanded our program offerings and adopted a new name. All the while, we've maintained a commitment to preparing our students to be the best in various realms of health care. Health Information Technology Option Ranked #1 in the Nation

The Clarkson College Health Information Technology program was recently awarded top honors by Intelligent.com, a leader in higher education resources.

Intelligent.com named the program as one of the Best Online RHIT Degree Programs, with the Associate of Science in Health Information Technology degree option being named the Best Registered Health Information Technician Degree Programs in the nation. The organization also ranked the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Administration as one of the Best Online Bachelor's in Health Informatics Programs.

Both the Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree options are offered online to meet the needs of all students. The Associate’s degree curriculum prepares individuals to become registered health information technologists (RHIT) who are responsible for maintaining quality patient medical records. Individuals who want to become registered health information administrators (RHIA) can continue their education by earning their Bachelor’s degree.
